Of particular note is the BIOPROOF project which should enable the rubber industry to take measures to guard against the risk of lack of raw materials by using bio-sourced (plant or other) or recycled materials in rubber formulations. This 5 year study started in 2012 and is partially funded by the BPI.

In 2014 a number of projects were initiated, which were economically important, innovative or continuations of on-going research:

  • Adhesion of rubber to a substrate at room temperature and low temperatures
  • Effect of plasma surface treatment on the tribological properties of various families of elastomer
  • Fatigue resistance of elastomers, depending on the formulation and load conditions
  • Behavior of elastomers at very low temperatures (characterization, modeling) and effect on their use for seals
  • Analysis of the new phenomenological behavior laws
